Bangalore in summerPerched at an altitude of 949 meters above the sea level, Bangalore is situated in the Deccan Plateau. Because of its geographical setting, the city enjoys a pleasant weather throughout the year. Characterized by dry tropical savanna climate, the summers are warm here and the winters are dry and cold. The city doesn't experience extreme temperature neither in summer nor in winter because of frequent rainfall.

Though the days are warm but the temperature goes down at night and people have to use blankets at night during summer. No wonder, the city is often refered as 'the air-conditioned city' of India. The temperature shoots up to 36'C in summer and dips to 17'C in winter.

 

The most pleasant time to visit the city is during the months of October to February. These months are characterized by fog in the early morning with warm days and clear sky but the density of the fog increases during December and January.

 

One should avoid visiting the city from July to September, the period of south-west monsoon.
